The handheld 40700 programming unit is used to manually assign addresses to devices on a fire detection loop.
The programming unit is connected to a device (detector, sounder, call point, module, etc.) by means of an adaptor or a special cable.
The device has four keys which allow incrementing or decrementing the address of a device, store an address into the memory of a connected device, or simply read the address of a connected device.
An LCD on the programming unit displays basic information on a connected device, such as the type of device, production and test dates, and battery status.
